ACCELERATED STUDIES - 2 Fast Track Options
LEADER'S TRACK
Leader's Track is one of the components of our Accelerated Program.This program provides advanced leadership development for mature students who may lack academic background, but who have demonstrated leadership qualities, Bible study disciplines, spiritual gifting, and proven ministry skills.
Leader's Track is for mature students (30+) with an equivalence of five years full-time ministry experience (or a minimum of 5000 hours in lay ministry experience). This ministry experience must be detailed in the Ministry Report Form of our Student Application for Admission. The completed Application for Admission with the Ministry Report Form and other Reference Forms must be sent to our office with an accompanying Leader's Track Application Fee of $100 (Canadian currency).
Also required are the successful completion of our English Proficiency Test and Advanced Bible Knowledge Test. We will assess and evaluate your application and should you qualify for the Leader's Track program, you will receive an advanced standing of 64 credits towards a Bachelor of Theology degree (applied at the completion of the 64 earned credits through PLBC).
PLBC's Application for Admission can be downloaded from our website - http://www.pacificlife.edu/downloads/. Should you desire, we can mail you a hard copy of the application. Following your completion of this application, we will then officially inform you of your status by letter, and indicate to you what courses you will need to complete your degree, and where you should begin specifically with regard to our Distance Education courses.
DEGREE UPGRADE
Degree Upgrade is our other Fast Track option. Degree Upgrade is for students who already hold a degree from a secular college. Students are allowed to integrate their background in general studies with a concentration of biblical studies and specific ministry interests. Transcript evaluation is required to ensure qualification for program requirements. Students who successfully qualify for this program will be awarded 64 credits from PLBC (advanced standing) towards a 128 degree Bachelor of Theology degree [the 64 credits of advance standing are only awarded once the student's 64 academic credits have been earned.
Here is the normal procedure: a/ Complete and send to the college the Application for Admission with the $35 fee for the Degree Upgrade program. b/ With the Application for Admission, also have an "official copy" sent to us of the transcripts from where you received your degree. We will then evaluate your application and your transcripts to determine if you qualify for the program and if you do, then inform you of that by official letter and indicate to you what courses that you will need and what courses that you should begin taking.
