Adult distance learners are enrolling in unprecedented numbers. Consequently, this has necessitated creative training methods to cater to these eager students. Not one to be left behind, PLBC has been working hard to decentralize Bible learning and to help students earn credits at the same time!
CERTIFICATE, DIPLOMA OR DEGREE Students may work toward either a 32 credit Certificate of Biblical Studies, a 64 credit Associate of Theology Diploma, or a 128 credit Bachelor of Arts Degree in Pastoral Leadership or Church Ministries or a Bachelor of Theology degree with Pacific Life Bible College. Courses may be taken through Independent Studies, a LIFEline church institutte, Intensives, Directed Studies, on or off campus.
The Certificate of Biblical Studies can be granted for 32 credit hours of study in which you choose your own courses. The Diploma and Degree course requirements may differ somewhat from those in the College catalogue because of course availability and program of study. A list of required courses may be obtained from the Distance Education office.
EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES Some individuals may be interested in studying but are not wanting to obtain credit for their studies. Therefore, we have made course materials available for purchase without enrolling in a course. DVDs may be rented but they will be subject to a 4 month time limit.

PAYMENT Payment by VISA, MasterCard or debit card is preferable, however, off-campus students may also pay by certified cheque or money order. Payment must be received before materials can be sent out. Tuition fees are non-refundable and non-transferable to any other person. All books and manuals are non-returnable and non-refundable. Rental DVDs must be returned by the due date. Further course materials will not be sent if there are outstanding rental resources. We are trusting our students to make the rental system work so we can continue this cost-saving option.
LIBRARY RESOURCES Pacific Life's library resources are available to Distance Education student's who live in the area. The library fee is $10.00 per course to a maximum of $50.00 per calendar year. Please contact the Distance Education office if you wish to make use of this resource.
TRANSCRIPTS Official transcripts are available to be sent to colleges upon written request from the student. The cost is $10 per transcript.
TAX DEDUCTIBLE RECEIPTS (Independent Studies Only) Tuition receipts for income tax purposes will be mailed out after the end of the calendar year. This receipt covers tuition only.
SHIPMENT OF MATERIALS (Independent Studies Only) Materials are generally shipped via Canada Post. Students are charged the actual shipping costs, plus a modest handling fee.
How to Apply The first step in taking Distance Ed. courses, is to complete PLBC's Application for Admission and return it with the $35 Application Fee to Pacific Life Bible College, 15030 66A Ave. Surrey, BC V3S 2A5. The Application for Admission can be downloaded from our Web Site. Once we receive your application and fee, we will process your application and then contact you with an acceptance letter and provide direction with regard to your selected program of study. Students already registered on campus do not need to re-apply.
DUE DATES AND EXTENSIONS You will receive a due date letter with your course that indicates the time limit for completion. One credit courses are to be completed in two months, two credit courses in four months, and three credit courses in six months. One course extension is permitted when requested and when an extension fee of $15.00 per credit, has been paid. The completion date will be extended for the same number of months (i.e. 2 months for a one credit course, etc.). Courses not completed in the allotted time will be cancelled and an F will be the grade given on your transcript. Students may re-register for failed courses. Required courses must be completed with a passing grade. PLEASE NOTE: If the course you are taking is needed for graduation you must ensure that your due date is one month prior to graduation.
EXAMS Exams are sent to the student in a sealed envelope along with the course materials. Students must be under the supervision of an EXAM PROCTOR when writing an exam.
COURSE GRADING Grading of courses complies with the campus grading system - see college catalogue for details. Unless we are otherwise notified, grades and completed course work will be sent through the postal system or via courier at the discretion of the Distance Education Department.
FUTURE DEVELOPMENT Curriculum development is ongoing with the goal to have a full 128 credits that are interchangeable with on-campus courses.
We currently have a number of online courses that are available and accessible through password purchase. There are other exciting possibilities being considered for the latest in distance learning. Stay tuned for developments.
